Los Colorados District
(10,000 HA), La Rioja
The Color 15 Concession of 10,000 hectares is in the Los Colorados District, La Rioja. Background is geology (pink plus crosses = granite; solid pink = Carboniferous-Permian sandstone & conglomerate of the Panganzo Basin). Note proximity to Los Mogotes Colorados (Colorados) mine. Coordinates are Gauss Kruger (WGS84).
The Color 15 concession of 10,000 hectares occurs in the Los Colorados District of La Rioja. Note that the roll front, past producing uranium mine at Los Colorados (Los Mogotes Colorado) in Figure 1 is only 20 kilometers southeast of the Color 15 concession.
The concession area potentially hosts roll-front uranium deposits like the mine at Los Colorados. Humic type uranium deposits may also occur. In addition, the concession is shallowly underlain by an unconformity with granitic rocks indicating that unconformity type uranium deposits might also occur. The area was centered around above background hand-held scintillometer readings, that have not been investigated or followed up in detail.
