Uranio AG was founded in December 2006.  The company's headquarters are in Basel, Switzerland.  The company has numerous concessions to mine uranium and is negotiating the acquisition of further concessions. Furthermore, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Uranio has an equity stake in other enterprises in the mining, energy and raw materials sectors.

With the acquisition of the Central African Republics Uranium assets, Lana International LTD become the majority shareholder.
